The amount of the life insurance benefit is the same as your annual base pay and in maximum EUR 70,000. In the insurance’s first year of validity, the amount of the life insurance benefit will be based on the situation as per 1 June. Thereafter, the life insurance benefit will always be based on the January situation info supplied by the employer. The benefit is paid to the next of kin or to other designated beneficiaries as a lump sum.
The insurance covers death caused by an illness or accident and is valid 24/7 anywhere in the world. The insurance is valid for as long as your employment continues.
The beneficiaries are your next of kin. You can change the beneficiary by logging in to the Web Service www.mandatumlife.fi and sending a message about the beneficiary. In your message, be sure to mention that the change in beneficiary concerns “Nokia’s Group Optimi insurance”.
If you wish, you can take out additional individual life insurance cover at a 30% discount negotiated by your employer. The individual life insurance cover requires a health declaration given by the insured. The insurance is valid for as long as your employment at Nokia continues, and when your employment ends, you have the option of continuing the life insurance cover by taking out an insurance policy yourself, without the need for a health declaration.
Select either cover for critical illness, life insurance or both. You can take out additional individual life insurance cover at a 30% discount negotiated by your employer by using the campaign code "NOKIA30".

Based on the beneficiary clause “Next of kin”, half of the life insurance compensation is paid to the spouse and the other half is divided equally between the direct heirs. The direct heirs are the insured’s children.
