How to make changes to investment objects and savings in pension and investment insurance or savings contracts

You can check the status of your pension and investment insurance or savings contract, and view your accrued savings and investment objects on the Web Service.

To find your investment information, select Policies from the Web Service’s top menu and then choose the relevant policy. If it possible, under your policy, to change investment objects on the Web Service, you can also take care of the changes to the policy in this section.

Change in the distribution of savings

If you wish, you can change the distribution of your savings into different investment objects.

If you wish to change the distribution of future payments, you can do so by changing your investment plan (see instructions further down on this page).

  • Select the Policies page and select the relevant policy.
  • Open the tab Investments.
  • Select Change the distribution of savings. Select your preferred percentage distribution for the savings in your investment objects. By selecting Add investments, you can choose one or more new investments. Please note that the distribution of the investments must total 100 per cent.
  • When you are ready, select Continue. The name of each investment object contains a link to more detailed information about the investment. Read the information carefully.
  • Confirm any changes made to your investment plan by selecting I have read the rules and brochures pertaining to the investment objects and Accept. Changes to your investments will usually show in the Web Service after a few banking days.

You always receive confirmation of transferred savings and can easily check the changes to the savings distribution on the Web Service in the Completed transfers of savings tab.

Making a new change to the savings distribution

You can make a new change to the savings distribution when the previous change has been calculated for the savings.

In some insurance contracts, new changes can be made on the following banking day after 10.30 a.m., when the calculation of the previous change to the savings distribution is underway. Please note that the latest change will be made from the estimated savings of the investment objects receiving the previous transfer, which savings have been calculated using the most recent values of the investment objects.

Calculating the change in savings

As a general rule, a change in the distribution of savings is implemented using the current banking day’s values if the change was accepted in the Web Service before 10.30 a.m. and using the following day’s values if the change was accepted after 10.30 a.m.

The values of the investment objects are calculated in the system of the company managing the investment object either during the current banking day, the next banking day or the banking day following that, after which they are sent to Mandatum. The calculation of the impact of the order on the insurance savings is carried out at Mandatum without delay when the values of the investment objects in the order have been received.

In a normal situation, the change in the distribution of savings and other orders tied to investments (payments, partial withdrawals, compensations) are calculated for the insurance savings during one or two banking days.

In accordance with the insurance terms and conditions, Mandatum must carry out a savings transfer at the latest on the fifth banking day after the notification is received by the company.

During a change in the distribution of savings and during the calculation of other investment object orders, the Web Service shows some of the insurances’ estimated savings, which have been calculated based on the latest known values of the investment objects. When the daily value of the investment objects tied to the order has been received, the order is calculated at the value in question and the savings are updated.

Exceptional situations

In exceptional situations, the implementation of changes in the savings distribution may be delayed or prevented if, for example, the fund management company’s redemptions are delayed, trading is interrupted or there is a system failure. In a situation where no valuation or quotation on the transferred investment units is available within the five-day time limit, or if one cannot be calculated within this time limit, the first valuation or quotation calculated or available after the time limit will be used in accordance with the insurance terms and conditions.

Change to the investment plan

When you wish to change the distribution of future payments, you can do so by changing your investment plan.

  • Select the Policies page and select the relevant policy.
  • Select Investments and Investment plan, and then Change investment plan.
  • In the window that opens up, you can select whether the change applies to future payments or existing savings. When making a change to your investment plan, tick the box The investment plan, i.e. future payments.
  • Select your preferred percentage distribution for your investments. By selecting Add investments, you can choose one or more new investments. Please note that the distribution of the investment objects must total 100 per cent.
  • Confirm the change to your investment plan by choosing Accept.

A change in the investment plan that concerns future premiums will enter into force immediately. The following premium that you pay is allocated into the investment objects in accordance with your investment plan.

Withdrawal of savings

You can make withdrawals from your investment insurance or savings contract in the Web Service by first selecting the contract in question and then selecting the Changes tab. Under that tab, you will find the Withdraw savings form. Select from the form which investment object the withdrawal will be made from. Any fees and taxes will be deducted from the withdrawn savings. Mandatum charges a handling fee on the withdrawal of savings; the amount of the fee depends on the policy.

If your contract does not have the ‘Withdraw savings’ form in the Web Service, you can make a withdrawal by sending an online message to our Customer Service in the Messages section of the Web Service.

You will receive separate confirmation of your withdrawal in the Web Service. For some contracts, savings withdrawals can be found under the tab Completed transfers of savings in the Web Service.

Once the savings withdrawal has been approved in the Web Service, the information in the withdrawal notification is carefully reviewed. Thereafter, the investment objects in the withdrawal are redeemed, and the amount of the withdrawal is calculated and paid to the customer’s account.
