Acting on behalf of another person

Acting on behalf of another person

You can act on behalf of another person with a power of attorney, as a parent/person having custody of an underaged child or as a guardian.

Acting on behalf of another person with a power of attorney

Only the owner of the insurance policy or an authorised person can receive information and make decisions concerning the insurance. If you would like to authorise another person to handle your or your business’s insurance matters or if you would like to handle, e.g., a family member’s insurance matters, you must fill in and return the power of attorney form. The power of attorney specifies the authorised person and what the authorisation applies to. You can return the power of attorney in Mandatum Life’s Web Service under ‘Messages’ as an attachment to a message, if you are already Mandatum Life’s customer, or by post to the address indicated on the form.

Acting on behalf of an underaged child

You can view the information concerning your child’s insurance in Mandatum Life’s Web Service by giving authorisation for the use of the Web Service together with the other parent/person having custody of the child. A parent/person having custody of an underaged child can be granted either viewing rights or viewing and management rights for the child’s insurance matters. For minors, the signature of both parents/persons having custody is required. If you have sole custody of the child, your signature is enough.

Return the authorisation by post to the address indicated on the form. If you are Mandatum Life’s customer, you can also send the authorisation in the Web Service as an attachment to a message under ‘Messages’.

It takes about a week to process an authorisation. Once the authorisations have been updated and you log in to the Web Service using your personal banking credentials, you can view your child’s information by selecting, from the top menu, the name appearing on the right and then ‘Change role’.

Acting on behalf of a person under guardianship

An individual who acts as a guardian can manage the insurance matters of the person under guardianship following authentication in Mandatum Life’s Web Service. For that purpose, you must send us a guardianship register extract, which you can obtain from the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. You can send the extract by post to the address: Mandatum Life Insurance Company Ltd., Asiakasposti / 2011, Kalevantie 3, 20520 Turku. If you are Mandatum Life’s customer, you can also send the extract in the Web Service as an attachment to a message under ‘Messages’.

Once you have been granted user rights to the Web Service for the person under guardianship, you can view the person’s insurance information by changing the role in the Web Service. Log in to the Web Service using your personal banking codes and select your own name from the top right-hand corner. Choose ‘Change role’ from the menu that opens up.

Please note that you cannot send messages or orders while using the Web Service in the role of the person under guardianship. You must change your role in the Web Service and send a message concerning, for example, a change to a contract, in your own name, in the ‘Messages’ section.
